Our expertise is in nebulisers It's why over the years we have resisted temptation to diversify too far from our core knowledge. Although at first being told you need a nebuliser may seem overwhelming, in practice when selected appropriately and cared for as manufacturers instructions it can soon become part of everyday life. Nebulisers for Europe 2016

"Can I take my big nebuliser to ....." is a question we often get asked. All our mains powered nebulisers will work in Europe though you may need a travel adapter for the socket on the wall.  The Omron C28 comes with its own travel bag which can prove handy but whichever mains powered nebuliser you have they should function well in Europe. There are smaller more convenient portable models available and you can see those HERE If all the football coverage has given you a hankering to take an impulsive trip to Europe then the answer is yes. So what have you got in your nebuliser box?

Having bought your new nebuliser just exactly what do you get? 
That really depends on which nebuliser you have chosen but here at Evergreen Nebulisers we aim to ensure that all you need is the prescription for your medication 
If you choose a compressor type as well as the main unit you should have a face mask and or a mouthpiece, a medication chamber (somewhere to put your medication solution), an air tube, there will be an air filter in the unit and with some nebulisers spare filters.

Nebulisers can come with additional accessories such as a battery or you can add on a car lead, some work with a completely different type of technology such as a mesh. Nebulisers, would you benefit?

Well what a difference a few weeks can make, it has turned from the coldest spring to what may become the hottest summer in a while.

If you are struggling with an exacerbation of your chest condition or having any difficulty breathing the first priority has to be to seek medical help from your G.P. Respiratory Nurse or Asthma Nurse.

Nebuliser basics, who should have one?

With the pollen count on the rise and in some areas hospitals struggling to cope we thought it may an opportune moment to revisit the basics of nebuliser therapy.

A nebuliser is a powerful drug delivery system that should only be used if your G.P. or health professional has recommended that you do. Using a nebuliser during an acute episode of your chest condition at a clinic, in A&E or on a hospital ward doesn’t always mean that you will be a suitable candidate to have one at home

For those of you who do have a nebuliser at home it is important to have management plan agreed with your doctor or nurse so you know what to do if your condition gets worse.

Relying on a nebuliser when you are feeling more breathless than usual and taking extra doses of nebulised relievers will only disguise and delay the need to seek medical advice

Nebulisers will not work without medication and your health professional will prescribe those which will be most beneficial for you. The most commonly nebulised drugs are relievers such as Salbutamol but there are many others such as Saline, Steroids and Antibiotics. The New Omron C28 P

The Omron C28P although not drastically different in appearance from the C28E still comes in at a great value price. 

The Omron C28P now has a more powerful motor with a higher output and comes supplied with the new and improved VVT neb kit.

The new VVT neb kit has a shorter nebulisation times giving a respirable output rate of 0.5ml/min compared to 0.4ml/min produced by its predecessor, uses minimal parts to nebulise and leaves minimal medication residue in the chamber which means that the entire dose is inhaled by you. Need a nebuliser for occasional use? The C801 is now the C803

By now we all know that with nebulisers one size doesn't necessarily suit all.. There are many different reasons why you may be short of breath and many treatment and therapy regimes prescribed. So what about those of you on who really only nebulise occasionally but still want to be active and continue your daily life as near normal as possible?

Dual Voltage Nebulisers to take you travelling.

What do we mean by Dual Voltage Nebulisers?

More and more products such as mobile phones and lap top computers have a dual voltage capability. This means that they are designed to operate efficiently and safety with either 110/120Volts such as in America and the Caribbean or 220/240Volts, the system we have here in the U.K. and in Europe. All you may need is the plug adaptor to convert your device to the style of the country your visiting which can make life much simpler. However assuming this applies to all electrical devices could lead to disaster.

Many nebulisers still have only a single voltage capability and mistakes can easily be made.  We get frequent calls from American or Canadian visitors who have “blown up” their nebuliser as the voltage here is the U.K. is higher and conversely many people begin their long awaited holiday with a desperate scramble to source a nebuliser as the one they took with them from home just won’t run at all. It can be an expensive and worrying mistake to make as nebulisers in some other countries are often more difficult to source and more expensive to buy.

For those of you who prefer to cruise, a dual voltage nebuliser will work on board ship  though its always wise to check with the travel company, and some models come complete with a 12 volt D.C. lead so you can nebulise when necessary from the cigarette lighter in your car or caravan.

So if you are only going to purchase one unit consider those which are dual purpose as well as dual voltage. If you are lucky enough to travel frequently, stop a moment and think of just where in the world you hope to visit  next and would a battery enhance your holiday? Or if being small and lightweight is essential maybe it will necessary to have a second nebuliser to take you there.

Some are Mains Powered, Portable or Dual Purpose. This is by no means a definitive list and there can be some cross over, for instance the Innospire Go and the MicroAir are the smallest battery nebulisers we supply and can be powered from the mains electricity. However for those of you who nebulise many times a day it is usually wise to have a larger 'work horse' for the house and a smaller hand held nebuliser for when out and about. Having said that this doesn’t suit everyone, and some you prefer to have 2 small portable units to ‘spread the load’ so to speak.

So, Dual Purpose?

Dual purpose nebulisers are those which we feel will not only have the power and durability to cope with a high usage but still provide some portability so you can enjoy the freedom to get out and about. Some of these nebulisers can be a little heavier than the small portables but still have the capability of nebulising in your car or from a battery which may be integral or available as an extra.
